When Jill Modes first joined Exact Uitzendbureau, she had no plans to become an entrepreneur. But early on, she sensed: things could be different. Better. More human. Jill’s conviction took root early on. Raised in a spiritual household, she learned from her father that life is just as much about the inner world as the outer one. “Don\u2019t forget to polish the inside too,” he\u2019d say with a smile. A phrase that stayed with her. As did the belief that people hold more potential than they realise. We just have to be willing to tap into it. That potential, she says, is not unlocked by control, but by invitation. \u201cTo lead others, you must first look inward and from there, shape your outer world.\u201d<\/p>\n\r\n <\/div>\r\n

\r\n <\/path><\/svg>\r\n Life is a journey of discovery. And work is a big part of that. When you can find or bring meaning to it, it changes your entire perspective. \u2013 Jill Modes<\/span>\r\n <\/path><\/svg>\r\n <\/div>\r\n

That belief started early, shaped by a spiritual upbringing and a father who taught her that life is as much about your inner world as your outer one. \u201cDon\u2019t forget to polish the inside too,\u201d he\u2019d say with a smile. \r\n From Head to Heart<\/span><\/h2>\r\n <\/div>\r\n
\r\n

Jill has always believed in combining head and heart in the workplace. \u201cAt the time, speaking openly about spirituality, inner calm, and human connection at work raised a few eyebrows,\u201d she recalls. \u201cBut why should head and heart be separate? Or work and life?\u201d<\/p>\n

Meditation and yoga became part of her daily practice long before they were common in business. \u201cThey help me stay grounded. Today, they\u2019ve even become valued employee benefits in our organisation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sometimes, she adds, it\u2019s just as important to break tension with humour, with levity \u2014 to not take everything so seriously. \u201cGrowth is serious work. But life doesn\u2019t always have to be.\u201d<\/p>\n\r\n <\/div>\r\n

\r\n From inside out<\/span><\/h2>\r\n <\/div>\r\n
\r\n

Many people wait for circumstances to improve. Until the storm passes. But what if you learn to steer while you are in it? Not from control, but from awareness. Inner leadership is knowing where you want to go, and following that path even when the route changes. \u201cI want to show people that they already have everything within them, but you do have to move yourself. Do not let yourself be distracted by what is happening outside you. Do not become a victim of circumstances or other people\u2019s opinions, but keep returning to: what can I do? It is easier to point the finger, but then you also give up your own control.\u201d<\/p>\n\r\n <\/div>\r\n

\r\n A Company as a Mirror<\/span><\/h2>\r\n <\/div>\r\n
\r\n

Under Jill\u2019s leadership, Exactpi has grown into a boutique recruitment agency with multiple areas of expertise. A mature, professional organisation built on care, curiosity, and connection. It\u2019s also a place where failure can be addressed openly, and friction isn\u2019t smoothed over \u2014 it\u2019s used as a learning moment.
\u201cEveryone has an ego that gets in the way from time to time,\u201d Jill says.<\/p>\n\r\n <\/div>\r\n

At Exactpi, roles evolve with people. \u201cWe go far to shape roles around someone\u2019s strengths and ambitions,\u201d she explains. One colleague started in sales, explored recruitment, and eventually flourished as a marketer – her true fit.<\/p>\n\r\n <\/div>\r\n

What began as a gut feeling grew into a philosophy, one that Jill still lives by. With a strong leadership team and a skilled managing director beside her, she is stepping back from daily operations, but the mission remains clear: to enable growth in people and organisations, and to lead with vision, joy, and above all: Feeling. It\u2019s no longer just her story. It has become a shared one.<\/p>\n
