Multilingual talent Vaiva finds new job in office role

After working physically demanding jobs and doubting whether office life was even possible, Lithuanian professional Vaiva Gelžinė found the right opportunity and the right support with Exactpi. Now working as a Customer Care Specialist at TreviPay, she looks back on how personal guidance helped her make the leap into a new professional future.

When Vaiva moved to the Netherlands just over two years ago, she quickly got to work but not in her field. “I started in a warehouse in Leiden. It wasn’t what I wanted to do long term, but I was treated well, and it gave me a solid start here.”

Still, something was missing. “After a while, I felt I wanted a new challenge. I wanted to grow. And then I saw this job ad in Lithuanian. It felt like it was waiting for me.”

Vaiva applied for a job at TreviPay, a company specialized in B2B payments and customer programs for partners. Her Lithuanian language skills turned out to be key. “TreviPay supports businesses across Europe. And sometimes, language is the barrier. So they needed someone who could speak Lithuanian to support their clients in that market. That’s where I came in.”

Her role involves helping businesses process invoices and resolve issues within a specialized fleet and parts program. “It’s a very specific service, but also very international. We solve real problems that matter in business every day.”

Before this job, Vaiva had never worked in an office, something that made her doubt whether she could succeed. “My background was in Lithuanian Philology and Publishing. After university, I worked in Norway as a cleaner, and later in logistics. I had no office experience. At first, it felt like nobody saw what I was capable of.”

That changed during her application process. “At some point, I just wanted someone to believe in me. Exactpi and especially Martha, did exactly that.”

When Vaiva started the process with Exactpi, she was met with both professionalism and empathy. “Martha guided me through everything. Every interview, every question. She even prepared little lists of what I could expect, which turned out to be spot on.”

That support gave her confidence. “She believed in me more than I believed in myself at that moment. It felt like I had a friend by my side.” Martha also handled all contact with Vaiva’s former supervisors during the reference checks. “They told me later that they had such a nice impression of her. That says a lot.”

Despite limited experience with tools like Excel, TreviPay saw what Vaiva could offer and so did Exactpi. “My degree taught me how to communicate properly, to write clearly and professionally. I’d also worked in service jobs, and I had real-life knowledge of trucks from my previous job. I used all of that in the interview process.”

By focusing on skills, motivation and personal fit, Exactpi helped match Vaiva to a role that allowed her to grow into her potential even if her CV didn’t check every traditional box.

Now, Vaiva works in a multilingual team, supporting customers in her native language while growing into the tools and processes that once felt out of reach.

“I’m learning something new every day. And for the first time, I feel like I’m in the right place professionally and personally.”
