Vitality is about being fit, both mentally and physically.  By working on vitality you become more energetic and resilient in life. You feel good physically and mentally and you don’t allow yourself to be easily swayed. In other words, you make the most of your life in good and bad moments. Now and in the future. Vitality also has everything to do with the balance between effort and relaxation.

Key ingredients are:

  • Healthy nutrition
  • Sufficient movement
  • Sufficient sleep
  • Mental fitness
  • Sufficient relaxation

Of course, you can work on this yourself, but more and more employers are also discovering the importance of vitality. And that is not surprising. After all, vital employees are more productive, more creative, happier and less often sick. And after all, you spend a large part of your waking life at work, so it’s easy for you to make gains there too.

We made a checklist of possible tools that companies can use. It is up to you to decide which are important for your vitality and happiness at work:

  • There is a vitality policy.
  • Healthy food is available, for example in the canteen.
  • Structural overtime is discouraged.
  • There is a regulation to set up your home office ergonomically.
  • It is not desirable to be available at all times.
  • If (or rather before) you get stuck you can call on a coach who is familiar with your issue.
  • Exercise and/or sports are stimulated with offers or the workplace and/or financial incentives.
  • Attention is paid to your stage of life and the associated work-life balance.
  • You can have a health check.
  • There are flexible working hours.
  • You can work hybrid.
  • The office is an inspiring place to work, with space for relaxation and socializing.
  • Personal development is encouraged and enabled.
  • Informal meetings with colleagues are facilitated.
  • Successes are celebrated.
  • Your work is meaningful.
